1. Sc 5/6
Zoe in bed by herself, wakes up, looks out window. Continues through window and pans back to Donner in bed, audio over him sleeping, shouting "Zoe!" (presumably in their dream), Donner wakes up.
Donner narrating: There's a reporter I know who calls space travel a fool's game. He says human beings are 60% water, they eat, they sleep, they defecate, can't follow directions and explode like panyatas when exposed to the vacuum of space. Lately I've been wondering if the bastard's right.
(Nadia comes up beside him and pats him on the back)
Nadia: You're sweating
Donner: Yeah, bad dream.
Nadia: Mars again?
Donner: No, it's this mission.
Nadia: Then you've nothing to worry about, Donner. You're not going.
Donner: (Gets out of bed) Well thanks for not rubbing that in.
Nadia: Come on! Hey, come, time for one more?
Donner: What, are you kidding me?
Nadia: No.
Donner: Feels like it's gonna fall off now.
Nadia: No pain, no gain. And besides, it's going to have six years to heal.
Donner: Yeah, as if I'd wait for you. (?)
(Kiss and roll back into bed)
2. Sc 7
(Zoe and Bev Barnes walk into Mission Control)
Bev: Beware of new endeavours, with Mercury in retrograde and Saturn-
Zoe: Mother, I don't have time for this.
(Donner approaches)
Donner: You're late. (?)
Zoe: Yeah, had some trouble getting out the door.
Donner: Good morning Mrs. Barnes.
Bev: It's Bev, Donner, and this is not a good day for scorpios either.
Donner: [Name] here is gonna take you to the family room and get you some breakfast, if you haven't had it yet.
(Donner places baseball onto his desk at MC)
Donner to Zoe: Nice makeup.
Zoe: Giant leap? (?)
Donner: I aint jumping to conclusions.
Zoe: What? (?)
Donner: It's a giant leap.
Zoe: It's a giant leap Nadia-
Donner: Can't she keep that to herself?
(Zoe and Donner walk up the stairs to the press gallery)
Zoe: She can't keep out of your pants, it's launch day.
Donner: I'm sorry, am I supposed to stay on her too? (?)
Zoe: It's for my mother, jerk.
(Walk through the press crowd)
Paula: Zoe - Spanish televation are waiting.
Zoe: Sorry, forgot we were doing this today. (?)
Paula: (Speaks Spanish)
(Donner walks through the crowd, pans to Nadia and Evram being interviewed)
Nadia: (Some German) I see nothing wrong with sex in space, the men afterall have been given vasectomies.
Evram: Each of us will be wearing HALOs behind our ears, Hormone Activated Labido Opressors, our hands will be off eachother and on the mission.
(Donner continues walking)
Rollie: Yeah, I guess we're the first married couple in space.
(Camera pans to Rollie and Jen being interviewed)
Jen: We think of it as our 6 year honeymoon.. Except with HALOs.
(Donner continues walking)
Steven: And in space, there's no pizza, so...
(Camera pans to Steven and Ajay being interviewed)
Ajay: And, no chicken vindaloo, which I will miss a great deal. I'll also miss my friend and my mentor, Maddux Donner; but he will be with me in mind and spirit.

(Camera changes back to Zoe down on the ground and Donner on the balcony, they make eye contact and smile)

(Camera swithces to Zoe walking through MC)
Arnel to Wass: Your collection's in the vidbank-

Zoe: Has to be an equipment error.
Jen: Yeah, has to be, right? And you said that Mercury's in retrograde, so maybe this is a Mercury in retrograde thing.
Zoe: Please don't encourage my mother.
Wass: In a strange way, your mom's kinda right, we're hopelessly dependant on playing [something] and we've got what, 28 hours, reach our [something] or we're screwed, the next flight window's in like 6 years.
Jen: Well, then we have to use Rollie and Ajay.
Wass: Actually, no.
Zoe: I'm not following.
Nadia: Then you didn't read the latest flight schedule.
Paula: There's a service pod headed for the space station tomorrow morning, and Rollie and Ajay's alternates could possibly be on it.
Nadia: Hello Ted, hello Donner.
Zoe: Don't you dare go there.
Nadia: That's six years alone up here with your old boyfriends. Although Zoe, if you want Donner, you're going to have to compete with me.

Mission Accomplished - A Look at Defying Gravity (Approx Runtime 10:00 mins)
(General Defying Gravity clips, 20 seconds)
Ron Livingston (Maddux Donner): Space-tastic!
Laura Harris (Zoe Barnes): Awesome!
Paula Garces (Paula Morales): The one word that would describe Defying Gravity.. Amazing.
Florentine Lahme (Nadia Schilling): Exciting.
Andrew Airlie (Mike Goss): Mystery.
Karen LeBlanc (Eve Weller-Shaw): The first word that pops into my head is magical.
Malik Yoba (Ted Shaw): Fantastic.
Christina Cox (Jen Crane): Fresh.
Maxim Roy (Claire Dereux): I'll say intriguing.
Eyal Podell (Evram Mintz): Mysterious.
Ty Olsson (Rollie Crane): Adrenalise! One made-up word.
Peter Howitt (Trevor Williams): Fascination.
Dylan Taylor (Steven Wassenfelder): Crazy.
Zahf Paroo (Ajay Sharma): Gift.
Jim/James Parriott (Creator/Executive Producer): The central theme of Defying Gravity is man finding himself and his place in the universe. And it's about a group of astronauts on a mission that is going to take them through the solar system. There's an intrigue element, There's sort of a funny, romantic element to it, it's a good soap. And then there's the strange mission element of it. As astronauts, the life of an astronaut, 40 years from now.
Michael Edelstein (Executive Producer): What Jim has created is a complex soap opera set in space. It's you know, and also on Earth during their training process, it's a little bit of Gray's Anatomy, it's got an overarching mystery like Lost, so it's sort of a show that has never really existed before.
Ron Livingston (Maddux Donner): There's a bit of a triangle going on between Nadia Schilling, who's the ship's pilot, she's sort of like the ace German fighter pilot, um, turned astronaut. And then there's Zoe Barnes who's sort of the girl next door type.
Laura Harris (Zoe Barnes): They have it, like an intangible connection. Connected, they don't know why, or what it's supposed to look like or.. or what, but it's happening.
Ron Livingston (Maddux Donner): Zoe's that girl that you see across the playground that you can't stop looking at. To me, it was really interesting, the idea of this guy that's supposed to be a big astronaut jock womaniser, and there's this one woman that just scares the hell out of him. Whereas Nadia is uh, sort of that fire-breathing woman that scares the hell out of most guys, y'know, and he just kinda eats her up.
Florentime Lahme (Nadia Schilling): Actually I like Nadia, she is um, sometimes very cheeky, she's not in love with Donner, she just um, wants to have sex with him, but still sees him as her property.
Ron Livingston (Maddux Donner): There's a whole world that kinda jumps off the screen, the production design on it is spectacular, just the look of everything, I think they really kinda captured it dead-on. I really bought it.
Michael Edelstein (Executive Producer): Jim and I did a lot of research with NASA, about if you were to do a manned mission through the solar system, what would you need? Steve Geigan is a brilliant production designer, he and I worked very closely together to put together the look of the ship. What we set out to do was to create a space environment that looks real, and feels real, and at the same time you know it has to be dynamic and interesting.
Paula Garces (Paula Morales): I play Paula Morales, she has her own space-classroom so it's really her job to uh, explain all the scientific facts of our exploration and our six-year mission to whoever wants to listen to her on Earth.
(Clip of Donner at MC: "Anyone mind if I change the channel?")
Paula Garces (Paula Morales): She always seems to like point the camera on everybody's faces when they least want to be on camera.
(Clip of Steven/Paula cracking the 512bit code to get to Arnel's "material")
Dylan Taylor (Steven Wassenfelder): I play Steven Wassenfelder, and uh, he's a little bit of a genius. I guess he's kinda got what you call a fat-boy mentality, he's a bit atypical for an astronaut, uh, there's maybe a question as to why he's on the ship, or how he made the cut.
Christina Cox (Jen Crane): Jen's involved with Ted during the training period and um, she ultimately ends up marrying Rollie Crane, Ty Olsson, and they go on the Antares together, believing they're going to go on this six-year msision as a married couple. That doesn't exactly work out as planned... and she's just about to spend six years in space with her ex. So there's some uh, really interesting potential for drama, to say the least.
Malik Yoba (Ted Shaw): I love the fact that I've had the opportunity to be dramatic, to be comedic, to be vulnerable, to be commanding, I love that.
Ty Olsson (Rollie Crane): We have a great cast, and really easy to go along with and we gel well together and um, we've been really lucky on this show to have great directors and to have great vision; each deal with their actors in a different way but each bring something that makes you kinda laugh, and I uh, love a work day when I can laugh at something, so that's been a really good thing about this show.
Peter Howitt (Trevor Williams): The mission in Defying Gravity is being covered obviously by the world's press as it's such a huge mission and Trevor is covering it for a major British news organisation. There's quite a lot in the story that makes you suspicious - Trevor's the man who asks those tricky questions, and to try and get to the bottom of the more nofarious things that are going on.
Maxim Roy (Claire Dereux): I play Claire Dereux, who is the uh, Flight Surgeon so she's not on Antares, she works at mission control and she's basically in charge of everybody's health aboard Antares.
Jim/James Parriott (Creator/Executive Producer): Part of the stories we tell aren't just of the training portion, but are deeper stories of what made them who they are. And they all have deeper, darker secrets.
Eyal Podell (Evram Mintz): Some of the revelations that the crew are exposed to over the course of the mission really throw them for a loop. I don't think any of us are really of sound mind to have signed up for this mission in the first place, so I think each and every one of us has their own issues that we're going to come to terms with, over the course of the mission.
Zahf Paroo (Ajay Sharma): I think probably Ajay's biggest achievement is not having his faith sway because of the things that happened to him in his life. It's hard to come to terms with your world when it seems like it's crashing down on you.
Karen LeBlanc (Eve Weller-Shaw): Eve has her own agenda, and her own mission here at Mission Control, she's a decision maker and she's in charge of crew selection. She has a mysterious edge to her.
Andrew Airlie (Mike Goss); Mike Goss is the Flight Director of the International Space Organisation mission. The astronauts are supposed to be going off and investigating these planets for scientific purposes, and they are certainly doing that, but they're doing a whole lot more that they weren't really aware they were going to be doing, and Mike is one of the masterminds of the more secret element to their mission.
Ron Livingston (Maddux Donner): Everybody on this show I think brings a team mentality to it. And I think that that applies to our crew, it applies to our writer's room, it applies to our production staff and it applies to our actors, and that's actually one of the things that I think I'm proudest of on this show, is to have been a part of that.
Jim/James Parriott (Creator/Executive Producer): I do think that when people watch this, they'll go "Jeez, yeah I haven't seen anything like that before." It's sort of its own unique animal, which is what we set out to do, I mean that's the fun of it.
Michael Edelstein (Executive Producer): I think the show is a great escape, the characters are very, very engaging and what happens is you sort of get caught up in the world, and you know, the show's a little bit addictive so hopefully that becomes a guilty pleasure for a lot of people.
